St. Xavier's School, Bathinda is an affiliate of the registered Society of Pilar, Punjab - Haryana, a branch of the Society of Pilar, GOA. The latter runs a number of other social activities like dispensaries, grihini schools, orphanages, balwadis etc. St. Xavier's School, Bathinda was opened in 1983, as a response to the pressing educational needs of the town of Bathinda and the surrounding villages. Originally an all-boys school, it opened its portals to girls in April 1990. The aim of the school is not only to prepare the students academically, but also to cater to the all-round development of the child, especially its moral and intellectual qualities. In this way, the school strives to draw out the best from each individual and enable its pupil to blossom into mature citizens of our country. The school is owned and managed by a religious group, which is a legitimate right provided for minority communities in our Constitution.
St. Francis Xavier who was born in Spain in 1506 to a noble family, was influenced by Ignatious Loyola. Ignatious Loyola who started the Society of Jesus, recruited Francis Xavier into this order.St. Francis Xavier who landed in Goa during 1542 specifically to stem the rot amongst the faithful, in a short period of time caused a major awakening. He was instrumental in building many churches and institutions in Goa and elsewhere. He travelled across Malacca, China and Japan.
As we navigate the journey of life, it's essential to reflect on the values that shape our character and guide our actions. Allow me to share with you timeless words of wisdom discovered on the walls of an orphanage in Calcutta, India:"If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway." In a world where cynicism can cloud our intentions, let kindness be our compass. Despite the skeptics, let our actions be driven by genuine empathy and compassion."When you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway."
‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ Teaching a person, a useful skill can be more beneficial in the long run than filling a need for them temporarily, that’s basically the meaning of this proverb. It focuses on the idea that long-term benefits are more useful than short-term benefits. I firmly believe that an educational institute is not just about infrastructure but about building persons’ character, and enlightening minds that will lead them toward lifetime growth. Doing and learning, analyzing, and applying is the elegance of St. Xavier’s School. We look forward to integrated teaching and learning as per NEP 2020. We are striving to provide our students with an atmosphere for multifaceted development where every child is encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence with a friendly environment, warmth, and individual care that will undoubtedly tap the inherent potential that exists in every individual.
For me education does not mean presence of ability to read or write, it means more than that, it is to move beyond the confines of the traditional school curriculum and to teach our children to embrace the adventure of life as a gift from divinity. To teach them to become resilient to be someone unique and cuddle in love of universal principle of equality and brotherhood, to face the quest of life as the owners and not as a mere victims of destiny, to make them as ownership of who and what they want to be and script their life where they refuse the circumstances to dictate, to play a life story of success. In our institution the thrust of education lies on simple understanding - life as a special call from God, where there is no rich or poor, great or small, more or less worthy, success

The mind is quiet only when it is not caught in thought, which is ... or when it is bound to the pattern of its own experience, memories.
Do not look at anybody in terms of friend or foe, brother or cousin; do not fritter away your mental energies in thoughts of friendship or enmity.

Life began with waking up and loving my mother’s face.
Like today, problems persisted in those times also. But we can always reach our destination with strength and determination, irrespective of time. So keep struggling, till we reach our destination.
Patriotism cannot be our final spiritual shelter; my refuge is humanity.
